Dr. Steven W. von Elten
After his graduation from the Honors Program of the College of William and Mary, Dr. von Elten attended the Medical College of Virginia. While there he was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha (the honorary medical society). After serving his internship at the Medical College of Virginia he completed his residency in Blackstone, VA. During the three ensuing decades he has lived and practiced medicine in Warrenton, both in the Family Practice and the Emergency Medicine arena. Dr. von Elten is Board Certified in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, and Clinical Lipidology. He has additional certifications in Electrocardiography (American College of Cardiology) and Carotid Sonology from the American Society of Neuroimaging. He was previously certified as a Medical Review Officer and certified in Geriatrics. Dr. von Elten's academic interests are centered in Lipidology and Vascular Biology.
He was a member of the Fauquier Hospital's Parent Board, Fauquier Health Systems from 1988 through 2008. He presently serves on the Advisory Board of BB&T. He has served as past president of the Fauquier Hospital Medical Staff, past chairman of the Department of Medicine, and has been past Chairman of the Credentials committee.
